The LumiFlexTW-1080 uses Nichia NF2W757G-MT 2-in-1 tunable-white LEDs, combining warm and cool white emitters under a single light-emitting surface. This helps create smoother colour mixing than a conventional alternating warm/cool LED layout and is particularly useful in compact profiles and luminaire designs where optical mixing distance is limited.

The 5 m reel contains 560 Nichia tunable-white LEDs, equivalent to 112 LEDs per metre, and covers a 2700–6500 K range with CRI 80+.

Tunable white for cove and indirect lighting

This product is particularly well suited to cove and indirect lighting, where the strip is hidden from direct view and the wall or ceiling becomes part of the lighting effect. The 2-in-1 LED construction is valuable in shallow coves and compact profiles because warm and cool light are mixed within each LED package rather than from separate, visibly spaced sources.

With a suitable two-channel controller, the colour temperature and brightness can be adjusted to create different scenes from the same installation. Warmer white can support a softer evening atmosphere, while cooler white is useful for brighter, more task-oriented scenes.

Choosing the right white-light scene

Tunable white allows the installation to move between warmer and cooler white light without changing the luminaire. This is useful in residential, hospitality, retail, exhibition and workplace settings where the preferred appearance changes with the activity or time of day.

Compact tunable-white luminaire design

The single light-emitting surface of each 2-in-1 LED helps designers create thinner optical systems with less distance required for colour mixing. This makes the strip suitable for furniture lighting, compact architectural profiles, kitchen lighting, exhibition systems and custom luminaires where space is limited.

Control and installation

The strip is designed for 24 V DC operation and requires a compatible two-channel tunable-white controller so the warm and cool channels can be dimmed and mixed independently.

The strip can be shortened every 100 mm at the designated cut points. The self-adhesive backing simplifies positioning on a clean, stable mounting surface. For longer runs, conductor sizing and feed-point placement should be planned to minimise voltage drop and keep the light consistent along the installation.
