The MatrixMini4080 is a modular rigid LED system for building luminous surfaces, custom light shapes, backlights, signage and compact panel luminaires. This 5 × 5 version measures 15 × 15 cm and uses 100 Nichia 757G LEDs to produce 1885 lm from a 24 V DC light engine.
The 5 × 5 format forms a 15 × 15 cm square light engine for luminous panels, showcases, ceiling elements and diffuse backlighting. The pre-assembled array can be separated into smaller 3 × 3 cm cells to create custom outlines and irregular light surfaces. The system shares its plug-and-play connection platform with MultiBar, so modules can be combined without soldering using the compatible direct, cable and power-feed connectors.

Shared MatrixMini and MultiBar plug-and-play system
MatrixMini uses the same modular plug-fit connection concept as MultiBar. Individual MatrixMini cells and larger arrays can be connected without soldering using direct connectors, cable connectors or power-feed connectors from the same accessory platform.
The basic building block is a 30 × 30 mm cell with four LEDs. Larger MatrixMini products are pre-assembled combinations of these cells, so designers can work with ready-made rectangular arrays and still separate them into smaller sections when the project requires a custom outline.
This modular architecture is especially useful for OEM luminaires, prototypes, illuminated furniture and one-off architectural projects because the light engine can be configured as strips, blocks, surfaces, letters or irregular shapes without designing a new PCB for every geometry.
Large luminous surfaces, ceiling lights and troffers
MatrixMini is especially effective when the light source must cover an area rather than form a conventional narrow light line. The 15 × 15 cm array can be used behind diffusers in ceiling lights, troffers and custom LED panels.
At approximately 83,000 lm/m² of LED-board area, the module provides substantial luminous density from a shallow rigid matrix. Uniformity depends on the distance to the diffuser, diffuser transmission and cell spacing; our light-ceiling guidance provides additional background for this type of design.
Backlighting, signage and illuminated materials
MatrixMini is designed for backlighting behind translucent materials such as acrylic, stretched ceilings, translucent stone, marble-look panels and other diffusing surfaces. The regular 30 mm module grid helps designers create predictable LED spacing across the illuminated area.
It is also suitable for signage and illuminated lettering, showcases and custom light forms. The modules can be arranged around the actual contour of the object instead of illuminating a large unused rectangular area.
Choosing 4000 K for the application
The 4000 K neutral-white light is well suited to offices, clinics, classrooms, studios, shops and other functional interiors where a clean, focused appearance is preferred.

Modular white-light engine for horticulture
The 4000 K MatrixMini is also suited to lettuce production, microalgae photobioreactors, microgreens and daylight-supplemental horticulture. Its square-cell architecture is useful when the grow-light surface must be built around trays, shelves, reactor geometry or other non-standard footprints rather than a conventional linear fixture.
The matrix can be divided into smaller sections and redistributed to improve spatial coverage. Horticultural systems should be designed from the required PPFD, spectrum, mounting distance, thermal conditions and uniformity rather than from lumen values alone.
24 V electrical and mechanical integration
MatrixMini operates from a regulated 24 V DC constant-voltage supply. The modular connection system simplifies assembly, but the power-feed layout, conductor size and supply capacity still need to be selected for the total connected load and the geometry of the finished matrix.
For large surfaces, distributing power at more than one point can help limit voltage drop. The 30 mm module grid and fixing holes make it possible to mount the cells directly to a supporting plate, luminaire body or other stable surface.
