SmartArray compact Nichia LED modules

Professional SmartArray LED Modules Nichia, for luminaire production

Nichia SmartArray modules in various forms
Compact but powerful, the SmartArray modules are perfect for lighting fixtures

SmartArray modules are compact but powerful, designed for use in bright luminaires for detailed illumination, such as spotlights, table lamps or ceiling lights. Thanks to the flat design, SmartArray modules can be easily integrated into almost any luminaire shape. Unparalleled performance of SmartArray modules comes from the use of Nichia LEDs with the best light efficacy and with a lifetime of over 100,000 hours.

For the greatest freedom in lighting design, SmartArray modules, designed and produced in Germany, are available in many forms and with innovative technologies such as Dim2Warm, Tunable White or 180° Light. In all cases, the light quality is very good, with the CRI rendering index being at least 80, so the colors are naturally illuminated.

You can choose from the following SmartArray versions the right one for your project:

  • SmartArray Tunable White: square or rectangular, with white and warm White Nichia LEDs on the same module, to get any shade of white between 2000K and 6500K.
  • SmartArray Dim2Warm: square, LED White 3000K or 2700K warm white and 2000K on the same module plus special dimming circuitry that mimics the warm glow effect of the incandescent bulb when set at low intensity.
  • SmartArray Q: Module 1, 4 and 12 Nichia LEDs respectively
  • Linear SmartArray: Nichia T02 LED with 180 ° light or 757 bright Nichia

For each SmartArray format you can choose between modules powered at 24V or at constant current of 350, 700 or 1400 mA.

The Nichia SmartArray LED Warranty is 5 years, providing investment security.

Applications for SmartArray Nichia LED modules:

  • Construction of light fixtures
  • Illumination in detail (spot lighting)
  • Illuminated showcases
  • General lighting with a very long service life in shops, offices or theaters

Our quality difference

The company Nichia from Japan is the manufacturer of LEDs used on SmartArray modules, and holds the world's largest market share (more than 25%).It is the inventor of white LED production technology, also receiving the Nobel Prize for this invention.

The very long life of Nichia LEDs (minimum 100,000 hours), high operating temperature resistance, much better light efficacy and good light quality are just a few of the attributes that recommend these LED modules for long- a wide range of applications.

We are a specialist of high performance LED light solutions. As part of the early success of LEDs we have extensive application knowledge from a wide range of sectors. Since 2010, we have developed and produced NICHIA LED strips in a state-of-the-art production facility in Germany. These strips have been used successfully in a wide range of application and developed specifically to meet customer specifications.

The difference between the quality and performance of a SmartArray with Nichia LEDs and a common, cheap LED module is evident from the first power on and in time the gap increases even more.

1) The luminous flux level is maintained for a long time

After 10,000 hours of operation, a Nichia 757 or T02 LED keeps 97% of the first light flux. An inexpensive LED loses up to 60% of the initial brightness in the same range.

The light output for the Nichia 757 or T02 LEDs is supported by 10,000-hour tests, according to the LM-80 standard, and lifetime (light at 80%) is calculated according to TM-21, both internationally recognized standards.

The evolution of Nichia LED light output compared to an inexpensive LED: after 10,000 hours

2) The Nichia 757 or T02 LEDs in a batch have the same shade of white and they keep it in time

On all SmartArray modules, all Nichia LEDs have the same shade (color temperature). In addition, all LED modules in one delivery have the same shade, which will also be maintained for a future order, a possible requirement due to the 3 Macadam Elipse sorting standard.

In addition, after many hours of operation, the Nichia LEDs have the same hue as the acquisition.

In contrast, on a cheap LED module, they can have more shades or the shade difference between two modules can be significant. The requirement that for a next order the shade is the same is impossible to accomplish. The reason is the lack of a post-production sorting standard that would increase the price. Moreover, after just a few thousand hours, each cheap LED on the module changes its hue.

A Nichia LED uses the 3 Step Macadam Elipse sorting standard and keeps the same color temperature in time

3) The Nichia LED is 5 times more energy efficient

Depending on the technology used, LEDs may have different light output for the same power consumption. The difference in light efficacy (lumens per watt) from one LED to another may be 500% and has a very high influence on the production price. The Nichia LEDs have the highest light efficacy, of more than 200 lumens per watt compared to an inexpensive LED that has around 50 lumens per watt.

Nichia LEDs are much brighter for the same power consumption
