- Wide flexible LED light engine built on a paper substrate for very large luminous surfaces
- Total luminous flux: approximately 27,335 lm
- 24 V DC operation
- Osram Duris LEDs
- Seven LEDs across each 50 × 350 mm row
- 497 repeating rows / 3479 Osram LEDs
- Made in Germany with a 5-year commercial warranty
The full PaperFlex1080 reel is a 24.85 m-long, 35 cm-wide flexible LED sheet designed for very large illuminated surfaces. It contains 497 repeating rows and 3479 Osram Duris LEDs, creating approximately 8.69 m² of active paper-based lighting material on one continuous reel.
Total luminous flux is approximately 27,335 lm with a total electrical load of about 178.9 W. Because the light engine is spread across a very large area rather than concentrated into a narrow strip, the reel is particularly useful for stretched ceilings, illuminated walls, billboard backlighting, exhibition construction and other projects where coverage is more important than local point intensity.

Wallpaper lighting and very large luminous surfaces
PaperFlex is particularly well suited to applications where the LED source must cover a very large area while remaining extremely thin and lightweight. The 35 cm-wide sheet can be installed behind translucent wall coverings, stretched ceilings, exhibition surfaces, furniture and other elements where conventional narrow LED strips would require many separate parallel runs.
The paper substrate follows broad curves more easily than rigid lighting boards and allows continuous illuminated surfaces to be planned almost like a technical wallpaper. This makes it useful for custom interiors, stage and exhibition construction, decorative walls and large-area luminaire concepts.
Billboard, signage and backlighting applications
The wide continuous format is also well suited to billboard backlighting, signage and other large backlit surfaces. Instead of distributing many small LED boards across the rear of a display, PaperFlex can cover substantial areas with a regular LED grid on one continuous carrier.
Final distance to the diffuser should be selected according to the required uniformity, surface transmission and LED spacing. The regular row structure makes the optical layout predictable across long installations.
Large-format light engine instead of hundreds of separate strips
The main advantage of the full reel is scale. A single continuous carrier can cover nearly 25 m of length while maintaining a regular LED grid across the 35 cm width. This can simplify the mechanical layout of very large luminous surfaces compared with installing and aligning many independent narrow strips.
The reel can be divided at the 50 mm row boundaries, allowing the same material to be adapted to walls, ceilings, exhibition structures and custom shapes without manufacturing a different PCB for every project.
Power distribution over very long installations
The reel operates from 24 V DC, but a 24.85 m installation must not be treated as one single-end-fed conventional strip. Power distribution should be designed with multiple feed points and conductors sized for the actual connected length so voltage drop remains controlled over the complete luminous surface.
Developed and manufactured in Germany
We develop and manufacture professional LED strips and modules in Germany, combining more than 20 years of LED application experience with automated production and application engineering. Our capabilities include Reel-to-Reel manufacturing for flexible substrates as well as controlled SMT assembly for rigid and flexible LED modules.
For project customers, we can also support custom dimensions, LED selection, thermal design, optical layout, prototyping and series production. This allows the light engine to be adapted to the illuminated surface instead of forcing the project around a standard LED-strip geometry.
